Emmanuel Endeley
According to the historian Mélanie Torrent, Emmanuel Endeley was first involved in the National Council of Nigeria and the Cameroons, then founded the Cameroon People’s National Convention (CPNC) in May 1960. He held government office in Southern Cameroons and opposed reunification, his party preferring to keep the link with Nigeria and Britain. In January 1959 his side was defeated by John Ngu Foncha’s KNDP.
